# Setting Up The Configs

Once you’ve finished installing the plugin to your desired engine version, the next step is to configure the config file for Unreal Engine.

### DefaultEngine.ini

On the DefaultEngine.ini we will change the Voip sample rate to 24000Hz because it comes with low quality and decreaeses the quality of the mic/sound.

```
[/Script/Engine.AudioSettings]
VoiPSampleRate=Normal24000Hz
```

If you are using 5.6.1+ You should replace your whole steam subsystem code with this because with the new fixes introduced in 5.6.1 about the Online Subsystem, Epic's code on DefaultEngine.ini doesnt work :/

```
[/Script/Engine.GameEngine]
!NetDriverDefinitions=ClearArray
+NetDriverDefinitions=(DefName="GameNetDriver",DriverClassName="/Script/SteamSockets.SteamSocketsNetDriver",DriverClassNameFallback="/Script/SteamSockets.SteamNetSocketsNetDriver")
[OnlineSubsystem]
DefaultPlatformService=Steam
bHasVoiceEnabled=True
[OnlineSubsystemSteam]
bEnabled=true
SteamDevAppId=480
bInitServerOnClient=true
bEnableVoiceChat=true
bVoiceChat=true
VoiceLoopback=true
; If using Sessions
; bInitServerOnClient=true
[/Script/OnlineSubsystemSteam.SteamNetDriver]
NetConnectionClassName="OnlineSubsystemSteam.SteamNetConnection"
[/Script/Engine.AudioSettings]
VoiPSampleRate=Normal24000Hz
[Voice]
bEnabled=True
```

### DefaultGame.ini

Initially I made this to be an push to talk Voice Chat system thats why we need to set the push to talk variable on DefaultGame.ini.

```
[/Script/Engine.GameSession]
bRequiresPushToTalk=true
```

If you dont want touse push to talk you can just set it to false

```
[/Script/Engine.GameSession]
bRequiresPushToTalk=false
```

After all of these you are done with the configs! Off to the blueprints --->
